Olympic Torch Relay
On 30th May 2012, over 3000 people welcomed the Olympic Torch Relay at Telford's famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Elizabeth Anderson ran with the flame across the footbridge at Trevor basin to a canal boat half way across the Aqueduct. Joanne Gregory then took the flame back across the Aqueduct on a canal boat. Many school children from the local area lined the canal side. Musical entertainment was provided by The Froncysyllte Male Voice Choir.
